    Since its completion in 1952, the Guangdong Guesthouse (Guangdong yingbinguan) has been host to numerous foreign guests. The hotel has received heads-of-state from over 60 countries and many Chinese leaders including Chairman Mao and Deng Xiao Ping. The hotel is located on Jiefang Bei Lu, just opposite the Temple of Six Banyan Trees. It is 7 km from the airport, 3 km from the railway station and only 1 km from the China Export Commodities Fair. The Hotel is set amongst pretty gardens and traditional Chinese pavilions and terraces, a rare sight in Guangzhou! Altogether there are over 30 dining halls here and the Grand Continental Hall can seat 700 people. All these restaurants serve authentic Cantonese, Chaozhou, Sichuan, Jiangsu and western cuisine. The hotel also has a fitness center, business center and a beauty salon.
