(BEIJING, August 7) -- Hurdler Ladji Doucoure, the most well-known track athlete in France and representative of France's National Team is looking for his third gold medal -- coming at next year's Olympics in Beijing.

An idol in France, Doucoure's life could easily be turned around in his native country. But Doucoure says nothing much has changed, that, "I am who I am and still enjoyed the freedom to walk on the streets without being recognized".

About his performance in this season's track events, Doucoure said, "I am still adjusting my skills and didn't quite get the feeling even though I am satisfied with my physical condition. It has been nine months since I got hurt, I do need more time and patience. Now I am concentrating on my training and contests. My performance still falls short of my expectations but my efforts will continue. Some time in later contests, things will get changed."

"My biggest hope is that I could have a good control of myself over the hurdle and feel at ease. But there is still a long way to go."

As for the coming Olympics, Doucoure is clearly ambitious. With two gold medals already in the pocket, he is looking forward to another Olympiad.

"My biggest objective is the Beijing Olympics next year. The Olympics is not only the dream of the Chinese people but mine as well."

Liu Xiang, a familiar name to the Chinese people, is also a friend of Doucoure who praised Liu's performance this season and understood the pressure Liu could be facing competing at home during the Games.

"This year, Liu's performance was spotless. But no one can remain on the top or get trapped in the trough for ever. I believe I will adjust myself to the best and harvest a gold medal of 110 meter hurdles in Beijing," added Doucoure.
