(BEIJING, August 1) -- A treasure trove fit for a king!
That is what was described during a press conference held at the Beijing Olympic Media Center as Zhao Dongming, Director of the Cultural Activities Department at the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), as he spoke of activities scheduled for the celebration of the One-year Countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC), and BOCOG will hold an opening ceremony on August 8, from 10 -11 a.m., to kick off the IOC Olympic Treasure Exhibition China Tour at the Beijing China International Exhibition Center.
The IOC exhibition will display over 700 treasured pieces of the IOC-Olympic Museum, including Olympic medals, torches, mascots, artwork, medals, films, photographs, sports-related scientific and technological items, as well as souvenirs from past Olympic Games.
